Saturday Morning lets parents give each kid a TV channel of YouTube videos that comes on at set times and signs off on its own. This page explains what we keep, why, and how to delete it. Short version: we keep as little as we can, we never sell it, there are no ads and no tracking, and kids never sign in or give us anything.
What we keep
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes and to know which household is yours.
- Passkeys, if you add one. We store only the public key your device creates. Your fingerprint, face or device PIN never leaves your device.
- What you set up for your kids: the display name you type for each kid (a nickname is fine), the emoji and colour you pick, their channels and times, and the shows you choose (YouTube video, channel and playlist IDs, with their titles and thumbnail images).
- Your linked TVs: the name you give each TV and when it last checked for changes.
- Your family: if you invite another parent, their email address, and which parents share your family. Everyone in a family sees and can change the same kids, shows, times and TVs. The family's time zone comes from the first phone that opens it.
- Abuse protection: to stop people guessing codes or flooding inboxes, we count recent requests by email address and by IP address. These counters are deleted within 24 hours.
- Error logs from our hosting provider, which can include IP addresses and the pages requested, plus error reports the app and TV send when something breaks (the error message and the browser or TV model). They are kept for a few days, to fix problems.
What we don't do
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.
- We don't record what your kids watch. The TV remembers where it got to in a lineup on the TV itself.
- Kids never create accounts, sign in or type anything in. Only a parent can set up a household.
YouTube
Videos play in YouTube's own player and come straight from YouTube. Saturday Morning uses YouTube API Services, and when a video plays, YouTube (Google) may collect information under the Google Privacy Policy. By using Saturday Morning you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. To show your show library, we load YouTube thumbnail images through our own server, so YouTube doesn't see your phone or TV fetching each one.
Who helps us run it
- Cloudflare hosts the website, the TV app and the database.
- Resend sends sign-in code emails.
- YouTube (Google) plays the videos.
They only get what they need to do that job. Your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States.
Cookies and storage
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and one that lasts 10 minutes while you enter a sign-in code. A linked TV keeps its link in the TV app's own storage. That's all.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your information while you have an account. To delete everything, open Account → Delete account. Your account, your kids' channels, your library and every linked TV are deleted straight away. If another parent shares your family, only your account is deleted and the family stays with them. Invites that aren't used expire after 14 days. Copies in our database provider's backups expire within 30 days.
Your rights
You can see and change everything we keep in the app at any time, and delete it as above. To ask for a copy of your information, or with any privacy question or complaint, email us at rohan.gore@chakranorth.com. If you're in Canada and not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Saturday Morning is a tool for parents. Kids watch the channels, but we don't collect information from children. The only things about a child we hold are what a parent types in, and parents can change or delete them at any time.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
